` weets... hehe.. miss julie ooi.. this post is just for u !! so that u can update ur paparazzi !! hee.. but nth much la.. boring boring work ! alrites... this is the fourth week into my ITP at a flexible circuit board company's Singapore branch. and to add to its glory, its a listed company in Singapore. lol. im in the engineering department which has tonnes of meetings per day and everybody are as busy as bees. its not a pun, coz from mon to thurs when the factory is running its processes, you can smell it from afar, not forgetting that im working in a office which is right beside the processes. lol, everybody will be busy scuttering around to check on the panels that they are in-charge of .. how are they progressing and any problems and such. so as to say, we do the panels from scratch. and how the factory got related, its coz of material science experiments. hull cell, copper plating. sounds familiar? now imagine a huge tub where tonnes of people can drown in it and imagine bubbling chemicals inside the huge tub. lol, ok fine, its not a tub. lets back track to process instrument, where we do all those stupid calculations of the gas pressure and such? those kind of tubs in the diagrams that we r so sick of. one solid thing that i have encountered in the first week is doing solder float at 266 degree celsius with waste water treatment plant running right behind me WITHOUT a mask. which brings back to the point that actually, the 3 of us who has done the solder float test concluded that wearing the mask that they provide tantamounts to not wearing anything. now i finally understand by fat ass lim stresses on PPE so much during environmental studies. and im kinda glad that at least im not that ignorant in my PPE as that i do tests without gloves and masks. this is my right as a employee of the company, much less to say a attachment student in the company !! now let me explain what is a solder float test as generally. solder is kind of chemical that solidifies upon contact with copper (coz the panels we do are copper, so lets assume as it is) forming a bright silver metal upon the copper, effectively protecting the copper as the solder has sealed on it. now, the solder being used is being heated up to 266 degree celsius, and sumtimes at a higher temperature. why is it called solder float, coz the density of the board is lower than the liquid solder, therefore it will float on its surface. it is a heat resistance test for the panels as such. now, as the sweltering heat hit upons u while doing the solder float test, a few steps away from the solder pot, its a drain which if u happen to lose ur footing n step right into it, it will reach up to ur thigh. and if u have one leg in the drain and one leg at the solder pot area, ur body will lose its balance, and ur head will hit one of the tubs of the waste water treatment ! imagine how dangerous it is and its right in tuas. other than that, gloves are to be recycled. imagine doing solder float with the gloves, after that examine panels with them, handle equipment with them, doing almost everything with the same pair of latex gloves. i just want to laugh out loud man. we are shortening our own lifespan by working there !! *sighs. 3 more weeks to go .. 15 more days to endure. thank the god, thank the sky, thank the stars that its a 5 day week work for 7 weeks. we concluded we will die if we have to work there for 6 months. lol. and the reason why im sitting here to blog? im on MC ad-hoc. contemplated with dragging myself to work and perhaps grab a MC tmr BUT i realised, todae is wednesday ! and tmr my lam is coming over to "visit", so in conclusion, tmr is a big no-no. so .. i decided to go see the doctor. finally. lol. therefore, im glad that time flies like an arrow and ITP is going to end soon soon soon ! heh heh heh.. alritess.. thats the end of the paparazzi my dear miss ooi .. do eat more and take care of urself over there.. miss all of you, the 8 eight faggots tonnes .. =))  |
